On May 1st, 1935, two young men opened a small scale printing venture in the 400 block of North Spring Street in Tyler, Texas.
Business was good in the early years for the partnership of Earl Story and Johnny Wright. After a year of working from early morning until the following early morning, Story-Wright Printing moved to a larger location at 213 North College so the partnership could expand into office supplies, office furniture, and office equipment. Later greeting cards and stationary were added as well as additional staff to handle the ever increasing demand. In 1936 Story-Wright formed their first office supply department with Mr. Wylie Wood as the supply clerk who would later become the manager for this department.
